I never write reviews but this place was exactly we wanted during a long road trip with our young daughters. It felt so homey, the hosting couple were super friendly, the service was so quick and efficient, the food tastes amazing, and they were so welcoming even with no reservation on a busy night. Very thankful.

The only thing better that the personal service at this fabulous family-owned restaurant is the INCREDIBLE Cuisine. Authentic dishes and very charming atmosphere and decor. Our fav orders include the daily Dal, the BEST crispy Naan we've even eaten (straight off the tandoori oven)goat curry and various other daily specials too. Slip into Nepal at this lovely spot for lunch or dinner

Absolutely incredible food - great balance of flavors, and it wasn't too salty or oily (which can be an issue at some places in this cuisine). Such a great place tucked along the highway with an incredible interior design and ambiance. Plenty of vegan options. Super friendly service as well - will definitely be back soon!!

What a great establishment. I came here because we saw the sushi restaurant next door, it was closed, but we decided we were hungry and wanted to eat - I'm glad we found this place instead! It wasn't too busy a Saturday at lunchtime but we got seated right away for a party of 3. He let us sit at the table with the window in the back so we can see our car parked in the back lot. We got one dish each, and it came with rice. The portions were pretty big and the food was delicious. In addition, I got chai tea, and he was very nice and refilled it before I left! I needed to charge my phone and the owner let me plug it into the wall, and pulled up a chair for me to sit next to my phone so I wasn't standing there waiting for it. He also came up to us, told us about the business, and just talked to us throughout our time there. Probably the best restaurant service I've ever gotten. He was very kind and overall we had a nice/genuine experience while getting to taste their home cooking.

Perfect place to get Nepali food in Sausalito. Here is what we ordered- Veg and chicken momos - the skin was a little too thick but the filling was so flavorful! If you're a fan of dumplings, you have to try the momos here. chicken tikka masala: amazing 100% recommend Goat curry: loved it but it does have bones. The curry tasted authentic Rogan Josh- i wasn't a fan of this dish. It tasted very similar to goat curry. aloo gobhi - pretty standard vegetable curry. biryani- quite different from the usual--it had a unique flavor profile and tasted more like pulao rice. Overall, pretty good food and I will be back again. The location is convenient, and the friendly, accommodating staff make the dining experience enjoyable.

After a day exploring Marin with my best friend, we were ready to eat! She recommended we visit Taste of the Himalayas based on the reviews and affordability. We were welcomed with kindness and enjoyed the Nepalese decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. In the touristy town of Sausalito, this restaurant embodies family-owned casual comfort. The restaurant is spacious with seating for various party sizes and service was superb and speedy. My best friend ordered the Chicken Vindaloo and I had the Tofu Saag. Both of our plates came with rice and we ordered a side of Garlic Cilantro Naan as well. You're able to choose your spice level--we both got mild but it was quite mild! My Tofu Saag consisted of soft tofu and spinach in an onion and tomato sauce. Though I wish there were more sauce! My best friend's dish was very tomato-forward. The naan was exceptional! Not overly garlicky, extremely fluffy, and probably one of the best I've had. My best friend and I enjoyed our meal at the Taste of Himalayas and would come back. Service is extremely kind and the food was tasty! Find them off Bridgeway with parking in their lot.

In tourist-friendly Sausalito it helps to remember that the town also boasts plenty of locals who presumedly don't dine at Fish on the regular. They might, however, dine at Taste of the Himalayas. The Sausalito waterfront isn't necessarily known for its warmth. After an hour outside in the fog and wind, Taste of the Himalayas and their delicious, stomach-warming fare proved to be the solution required to shake off the chill. But it was more than just the food that did that. Someone else mentioned that you feel like family in this warm place and they're not wrong. The owner and his relatives are present and very friendly and engaging. This was apparent not only with my two-person party but also observed when watching the parade of folks coming in to pick up their to-go orders. Without breaking down each dish ordered (2 entrees, 1 starter) I'll just say that the menu has a whole lot of options, you can request the desire of spiciness you prefer, and everything I tasted was deliciously satisfying. Since you're reading this on yelp you might also benefit from knowing that TotH often offers yelp deals and even a per-cent off with yelp check-in There's pretty much nothing I didn't enjoy here at this clear locals favorite.
